Fujitsu to Sell Analog Device Business to Spansion for $110 Million

A few days ago Fujitsu agreed to sell its microcontroller and analog business to California-based Spansion LLC and affiliates (Spansion). I wrote about this a little bit ago in my Analog Recruiter Blog, This is part of the restructuring plan and allows a more stable production of products Flash Memory Semiconductors to customers.

Spansion is a global leading designer for this type of Semiconductor. Fujitsu's micro controller and analog business shares in Japan will be merged and placed into a new formed company, Fujitsu Limited (FSL).  All of these shares will then be transferred to a Spansion subsidiary in Japan, Nihon Spansion Limited.

This seems to be good for both companies as Fujitsu Electronics Inc., a subsidiary of FSL, will continue to support customers in Japan as a distribution agent of Spansion.

The sales price for Fujitsu's microcontroller and analog business is approximately 10.9 billion yen, approximately $110 million US Dollars.

Till next time, to your technology!
